Give the Gift of Health & Flavor ♦ NutraSalt

Wednesday, December 23, 2009 2 comments

I crave salt.  I salt everything twice, which I know is not healthy for me.

According to Laura J. Lefkowitz, M.D. "Every major health study on hypertension conducted in the past five years points to high sodium as a top health problem in the U.S.  Nutrasalt is quite interesting because it provides the perfect balance of sodium and potassium without increasing sugar and caloric intake.  It really is a better salt."

Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet

Amber is entering her third year of orthodontic treatment.  When she had her Herbst Appliance it wasn't too difficult a job to brush and keep her teeth clean.  The full set of braces on the other hand has made tooth brushing a challenge for her.  After outlaying as much money as we have, we want to try and ensure as much as possible a bright smile when the bling has been removed.

One would not think a 13 year old would get excited over a Waterpik Ultra Dental Water Jet.  Yet this new acquisition of hers is shown off to everyone who walks through our doors.

Design Time with Fashion Playtes

Friday, December 18, 2009 1 comments

Amber is very picky when it comes to clothing.  It must be this color, or that design.  It can't have ribbons, or bows.  And definitely NO PINK.  Through Twitter Moms, I found a fabulous site for her, where she can design her own clothes, and can get just what she wants, it's called Fashion Playtes.

Our Handmade Gifts for Christmas

Thursday, December 17, 2009 28 comments

I was so excited when I received this amazing and totally personal handmade pendant in the mail the other day!

I would love to be more crafty but I just don't have the time or the ideas to make handmade gifts for people.

When I had the chance to review Our Handmade Gifts custom pendant service, I knew right away what I would put on a custom pendant.  Amber draws such wonderful characters in her sketch books all the time, and I was so excited to put one of those on a piece of jewelry for her.  (I ♥ handmade items!)

Norman PhartEphant from Fierce Fun Toys

Meet Norman PhartEphant. He is what you might call a little "gassy machine".  If you give his tail a squeeze, you will hear some "pharting" sounds (and maybe an apology or two!), but thankfully the stink has not quite made it to this toy!

Made by Firece Fun Toys, whose mission is to promote laughter, staying involved in helping others and maintaining the highest quality standards for their products, Norman PhartEphant is sure to get a smile out of the crowd.  And it wouldn't surprise me at all if you know one particular person who would fall in love with this toy.

MoZella Belle Isle CD Giveaway

Wednesday, December 16, 2009 19 comments

MoZella defined in a couple of words.  Animated.  Pleasant to listen to.  (Okay that was more than just a couple of words, I could go on and on...)

Unknown by name to me before (and perhaps you as well), MoZella's appealing voice has been on the t.v. for the new Verizon android phone, Nivea, Mercedes Benz....chances are you've heard her too.

Chenille Lounge Socks by PatientStyle Giveaway

Monday, December 14, 2009 188 comments

I have a lot of things on my list every year that I want for Christmas, sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't, but they are on my list every year.

A few years ago, I started adding more "comfort" things to the list.  Items that were fuzzy, warm and comfy.  My family knows that they will have a happy girl on their hands if a gift contains all three of those things.  So imagine my delight when I was asked to review the Chenille Lounge Socks from PatientStyle.com.

Pearl Girls Blog Tour

God's love and grace covers unexpected pain in life.  What He does reflects how He created pearls to be formed.  He uses the grit and dirt to make a pearl, much like He transforms the pain in our lives into victory.

Margaret McSweeney recognized that many of us can relate to being Pearl Girls, because we've been there ourselves, or we're currently going through it, or we'll be there in the future, and so she put together a selection of stories written by women, many of which you may already be familiar with, to share their "pearl" story.

CP Docks ♦ Plug-In-Shelf Giveaway

Ugh, I have charging cords all over my home.  One in a kitchen drawer, a couple around the computer, one on the bookshelf, and who knows where else.  Whenever I need to charge my cell phone, I have to remember where I last shoved placed it.

I now have a safe place to keep the cord, and my cell phone when it is charging, and it makes a great Christmas gift.

The CP Docks line of personal charging stations, solves the problem of large boxy holders that take up counter space, or still have the cords hanging out all over the place.

The Tea Set New York

Saturday, December 12, 2009 2 comments

I love hunting for unique gifts for people.  And while tea itself is not altogether unique, the assortment and packaging offered from The Tea Set - New York certainly is.

This newly launched company sells fair trade, organic teas and has exceptional, chic and elegant gifts.

I was able to sample a couple of varieties of tea that The Tea Set - New York offers, a green tea and a chai.

Holiday Shopping at T.J. Maxx and a Marshalls Giveaway

Friday, December 11, 2009 398 comments

I love bargain shopping, it's like a game to me, the best deals are like a huge rush of adrenaline.

One of the "must stop shops" when we go to the Mall of America is Marshalls. I KNOW that I will walk out of there with at least one bag (often two, three or more...). The same great stuff you can get everywhere else is available at often half the price. I can always find the elusive purchase there also, like the silicone roux whisk that I picked up for $7.99 which was $20.00 at all the places I could find it in.

Here in South Dakota, we don't have a Marshalls, but we do have T.J.Maxx, and we went shopping yesterday to show you some of the deals you can pick up for the holidays.

Review/Giveaway: Cheap Cookie Cutters

Thursday, December 10, 2009 131 comments

If you've been reading my blog for a while you know that we're passionate about Disney in our home. And if you are newer to my blog, or if this is the first time you're visiting, the Disney category just below the featured section should give it away!

A few months ago I had a "What Will You Celebrate?" party and I tried making Mickey Mouse shaped brownies which I was compeletely unsuccessful at.

I was sent a mini Mickey Mouse cookie cutter from http://www.cheapcookiecutters.com/ to review, and yes I'll admit, it made me a bit giddy!

Healthy Hands Musical Hand Wash Timer Giveaway

Wednesday, December 9, 2009 41 comments

While it seems as if the H1N1 virus is now becoming a background topic rather than the forefront of the news, there is always the seasonal flu to be concerned about, and germs from the common cold and other viruses too. With the holiday gathering hugging, kissing and cheek pinching that will be happening, it's important to make sure that we help our children understand proper hand washing techniques in order to keep the germs at bay as much as we can.

Well I'm always a sucker for any product that is branded with a Disney character but the Disney Musical Hand Wash Timer by Healthy Hands has its own merit, the Disney branding is just an added bonus!

Tuesday, December 8, 2009 0 comments

Okay this review is for the kids, well you know what I mean! Think how delighted your kids would be with their very own Pizza Maker starring Chuck E Cheese and an ICEE to go with it, that they can make themselves!

Think Wow Toys has a whole line of products that let kids make real food in a matter of minutes.

Hickory Farms

Monday, December 7, 2009 2 comments

Hickory Farms has great gift basket ideas. I have often had to buy a gift, not having a clue as to what the person wants or needs. Have you ever had that experience? Yeah, I thought so. During the holiday season we often have to buy gifts for teachers, co-workers, business colleagues, and really know nothing about what they would like or their hobbies. But what better way to show your appreciation for what they have done through the year, than by giving them a consumable gift from Hickory Farms.
