RoC Retinol Correxion Giveaway

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 28 comments

Thanks to Bzz Agent, I was able to participate in the RoC Retinol Correxion campaign.   Bzz Agent is a program that allows consumers to test products and services.  The concept is WOM (Word of Mouth), a marketing effect that companies have come to rely on.  Sort of like that old commercial, if you tell two friends, and they tell two friends, and they tell two friends, well you get the idea.

So this time I was sent three tubes of RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream; one to try, and two to share ☺.

Coleman.com $25 Gift Card Giveaway - Double Your Chances!

Sunday, December 27, 2009 64 comments

To be quite honest with you, we're not huge 'outdoor' sort of folks.  Really our idea of camping is a hotel (or cruise ship) with chocolates on the pillow.

However that doesn't mean that we don't need a lot of the things that Coleman makes.  Things like rechargable flashlights and storage containers are always needed, whether you're a camper or not!   Of course there is the all important cooler too, for when we make our seasonal trips to Canada and have to bring home the Coffee Crisps to tie us over until our next visit.

Though Waters Roar - Lynn Austin

I was first introduced to Lynn Austin's books from a cousin of mine, who became friends with Lynn when the Austin family was living in Manitoba.  I read the book with no expectations, simply doing so because my cousin had mentioned it.  Well I quickly realized the friendship factor aside, why my cousin so loved her books, and I became equally enamored with Lynn's writing.

Dairy Makes Sense ♦ Midwest Dairy Council Giveaway

Tuesday, December 22, 2009 39 comments

I'm sure the people who check us out and help bag our groceries at the store think we have a half dozen kids in our family.  You would think so by seeing how much milk and dairy products are in our cart each week.  The three of us consume a lot of dairy.  3 gallons of milk per week, 14 cups of yogurt, a brick of cheese, and some shredded, and don't even get me started on the ice cream!

Did you know that nutrient-rich foods, like dairy deliver more bang for your buck than other options at the grocery store?  For example, an 8-ounce glass of milk delivers 9 essential nutrients, like calcium and protein, at about 25¢ per serving.  One tip is to avoid the expensive snack aisles and focus on easy nutrient-rich snacks that pay you back, like yogurt and string cheese.

Dairy Makes Sense sponsored by Midwest Dairy Association has wonderful recipes and tips, that will help save you money, and get those all important dairy servings into your family's bodies.

Fiber Gummies ♦ Review and Giveaway

Monday, December 21, 2009 22 comments

Fiber has important health benefits for children:

  •     It promotes regularity and prevents constipation
  •     It helps reduce risk of cancer and heart disease later in life
But how much fiber do kids need? The recommended daily fiber intakes are:

Kids 1 to 3 years: 19 grams
Kids 4 to 8 years: 25 grams
Boys 9 to 13 years: 31 grams
Girls 9 to 13 years: 26 grams
If your kids are picky eaters, it may mean that you have to supplement their fiber intake.   Some kids go through spurts where they are fixated on only one type of food, so while you continue to try and get them to eat healthier foods you're at a loss on how to get the recommended  amount of nutrition values into them.

When it’s time to look for a supplement, the well known name of Pedia-Lax is there to help.

Our Handmade Gifts for Christmas

Thursday, December 17, 2009 28 comments

I was so excited when I received this amazing and totally personal handmade pendant in the mail the other day!

I would love to be more crafty but I just don't have the time or the ideas to make handmade gifts for people.

When I had the chance to review Our Handmade Gifts custom pendant service, I knew right away what I would put on a custom pendant.  Amber draws such wonderful characters in her sketch books all the time, and I was so excited to put one of those on a piece of jewelry for her.  (I ♥ handmade items!)

MoZella defined in a couple of words.  Animated.  Pleasant to listen to.  (Okay that was more than just a couple of words, I could go on and on...)

Unknown by name to me before (and perhaps you as well), MoZella's appealing voice has been on the t.v. for the new Verizon android phone, Nivea, Mercedes Benz....chances are you've heard her too.
