TruthQuest History is a series of units on history for grades 1-12. Each study deals with a specific era of history, so you can pick and choose where you would like to start. All units combined would make a thorough jaunt from Creation/Ancient History through to the Age of Revolution US/Europe up to the year 2000.

Written as a God focused view, rather than a man centered one, history is taught in a spiritual context. The commentaries included throughout the curriculum are insightful and well written. The ThinkWrite exercises prepare your children to communicate truth to the world. And if those reasons aren't enough for you to check out their website, it has earned Cathy Duffy's 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum. The units range from $24.95 to $34.95. You can view a sample of each one online too.

Age of Revolution III: America/Europe, 1865-2000

This is the unit that we chose to review. We centered on the chapter that was dedicated to the study of what was happening around the world during Queen Victoria's reign. We really dug into the parts relating to India and Africa during that time.

After reading through the interesting commentaries that Michelle Miller has provided, a vast variety of books are listed that go along with the topic.

I found many of the books in our public library, and some of them were in our church library as well. The book lists are labeled with the appropriate grade level and are clearly annotated to reflect any questionable content, or whether the content of the book is unknown to the publishers.

Genius really enjoyed reading some of the books suggested on David Livingstone. She learned quite a bit from them too.

As we are text book driven in our homeschool for the most part, I was unsure of whether or not we would actually like this type of format to teach and learn by. I do believe though, that it has won me over, and we will continue to use it next year when we study American History. I highly recommend TruthQuest History, and encourage you to check out their website for further information on their products.
