Bible Story Songs - Review
There were times, many years ago, when Genius was young, and I had the radio on in the car, that my conscience was pricked and I questioned what I was doing. With no Christian radio station at the time in our city, and only a cassette player in our car (when most of our kid music was on CDs), I justified it just to have some music in the background.
Bible Story Songs is just the type of CD that I would have liked to have had for her to listen to. The authority of God's Word through Scripture is in each and every song. That is something that we can never give our kids too much of.
The nostalgic sounds of the songs I sang as a child in Sunday School, of children's voices singing, and acoustic instruments , are heard through the speakers when playing this CD. (If you grew up in an evangelical church during 70s and 80s like I did, think about the songs like Climb, Climb Up Sunshine Mountain and the like.) Pop it in, sit back and listen, I'm sure your little ones will enjoy it.
We received the Matthew: Volume I CD to review. It's attention is focused on Matthew chapters 1 through 8. With classic tunes like Turkey in the Straw and new ones with fun lyrics like "I Mowed Some Grass" , the emphasis that Jesus Christ is the King is woven throughout the songs.
Bible Story Songs has 6 CDs like this with different themes, Moses and David are two of them.
Sheet Music, Song Books and more can be found at their website. You can listen to some clips of the songs here. The CDs cost $7.99 - $9.99, and if you buy more than one you can save.
With the media bombarding our kids with Hannah Montana's and Taylor Swift's very early,(I'm not saying those are bad, they just aren't Biblically based) this is a great CD to keep our young ones steeped in God's Word in a way that is definitely swimming against the culture! If you are interested to see what others have to say about Bible Story songs, go to the TOS Crew site for more reviews.
